So I was out shooting pool last night, and than I headed to the bar where this really cute guy offered to buy me a drink. I accepted, and the next thing I know I’m in his car and he’s taking me to his place….
Well maybe not as exciting, but it’s fun to go on a date when you’re married. We haven’t done a restaurant-less activity in a while, and we’ve both been really busy this week, so we decided to take a break and go out together. We ended up at a pool place nearby — this is only my second time playing pool. Of course Adiel creamed me, but I was just excited to actually hit the ball. I’m really terrible at pool, but did make some improvements as the night went on. Adiel was very patient and INSISTED that I get the last ball in. That took like 15 minutes and 50 tries or something.
Pool is an interesting type of sport. I can see people getting into it and trying to do all sorts of shtick, but I doubt I’ll ever be good enough for that. I’m not sure why it has such a bad name, maybe cuz some of the pool people are lowlives? But there are plenty of good normal people who just want to have a good time and I don’t see that it’s so much darker and dirtier than bowling. This particular pool hall had like 6 people total (one guy played against himself!) and the bartender was some clean cut, young college professor. Not the picture of a sterotypical pool place or bartender.
Anyway, we had a great time and after the games, we went to the bar to get some sodas and watched some local teams play ball. We got to watch the Rangers sweep their playoff round against Atlanta. Plus, the Yanks crushed the Indians and we stayed late to watch that as well.
