A day with the Personal Chef

lasagna apple soup

Today, Adiel and I learned how to cook a few dishes from a pesonal chef in town, Naomi Ross. She taught us how to make homemade tomato sauce meat lasagna, stuff avocado salmon salad and carmelized apple and parsnip soup.

We got there around 12:30 and were starving. Naomi met us in her kitchen and gave us a little history of herself. Than she started with the tomato sauce. While the tomato sauce with the meat was simmering, she began the apple soup. Than, we put the lasagna together and started the salmon salad. Everything took a long time and it was already close to 3 by the time we had our first dish – the apple soup. We were starving by then!!! It was so sweet and flavorful and delicious. Then, we munched on the salad and had some lasagna.

I think I liked the salad the best. The tomato sauce from the lasagna was good, but the actual lasagna fell apart because there was no cheese. The soup was yummy but a little too sweet for my liking. All in all, it was a fun afternoon. Naomi did a great job teaching, and really knows cooking stuff. She prepeeled and cut most stuff so that saved a bunch of time. We also got a copy of all the recipes and I jotted down notes on mine. We took home some leftovers and very full, satisfied tummies!

What fun it is to do something you love – like cooking – for a living!

Wow, that looks really fun, I just checked out the website! Why don’t we go to one of her classes together sometime? I love that kind of stuff.
