. I love the summer. Can you believe it’s August already?! The summer is a few weeks from being over and I feel like it just started. B”h we’re busy with some good things including a big project that we will be sharing with the masses sometime soon (if you don’t already know about it).
Some things that I still want to do before the summer ends:
~ Meet with a whole bunch of friends who I haven’t seen in a while. Mainly in the city or Brooklyn, but I’m hoping one or two of them will come here. I literally have like 10 girls on my list, when i’m going to fit in seeing them all? And that includes one coming in from Israel hopefully.
~ Go shopping for summer clearance stuff. I think I’ll wait till I have off to go back to the outlet mall. I have to return some stuff from SR’s kids there anyway.
~ Walk the Atlantic City bridge. Going to have to wait until it’s a little cooler though or maybe one evening.
~ Barbecue!! Can you believe we haven’t had a real one yet?! nuts.
~ Picnic for dinner. Somewhere in some park. We did it for Memorial Day, but I want to do another one!
~ There are still some people we haven’t been to for Shabbos or haven’t been in a while. I thought the summer was a good time. But I’m thinking of pushing off Washington heights until after the ’smushing on the FDR Drive on Friday’ season is over. We also want to have some company that we haven’t yet had or had in a while. The problem is I think the next few weeks we’re going to be stuck at home busy with the project until the last minute…
~ Visit a few different local friends on Shabbos that I never see and always say I’ll visit on those long summer shabbosim…
~ Go swimming a few more times in the Darchei Pool. Maybe invite a friend to join?
~ Eat ice cream outside.
~ Go to the beach! Not just walk there but actually wade into the ocean and play in the sand. Funny how I always end up at beaches miles away when we have a beach just a few blocks away!
~ Catch a movie in Brynat Park or Brooklyn bridge park. Not sure if it’ll happen.
~ Write up the second edition of the Priceless Shmooze (family newspaper).
~ Maybe get a little 2-3 day getaway with Adiel?
~ I’m sure there’s more that’s just skipping my mind right now.
And all this before Labor Day shows up and I have to get back to work…
comment.
esther,
you don’t need anyone elses love but mine.
but ive got a HUGE ego and need the worlds attention and people know to leave feedback for what i write.

No, I’m the one that has a huge ego and need for attention but noone gives it to me. What’s that posuk about running after kavod….?
Hmmmm — maybe it’ll be a surprise where we are going…
(See, now it’s going to look so good cuz it says 4 comments instead of No Comments. You don’t even chop how sad ‘No Comments’ looks)
Sounds like u have a full schedule ahead!!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Good Luck with accomplishing all your summer goals.
Adiel – come up with an idea for a getaway.
You guys crack me up!!
Wow – i dont believe I’m the first outsider to post!
Now thats a first!
BTW – am I in any of your plans when you were referring to your friends ?
The lazy days of summer when we were kids and had all the time in the world are long gone…. but i hope you’re able to chap in as much as possible.
AJ – u’re definitely in our plans. All of these things I want to do, let’s see what ends up really happening.
C – you’re right, summers were definitely longer when we were kids.
Thank you both so very much for posting.

I’ve walked the Atlantic Beach bridge before, it’s a nice walk! I’ve done it a couple times when I was in Far Rockaway for Shabbos.
