Wow! What a Yom Tov!
Esther & I were all over the place from the beginning of Sukkos until even today. What a fun, fun, fun and happy Sukkos. For the 1st 3 days we went to Brooklyn and stayed by her aunt and uncle (along with all other members of that side of the family) and ate out 3 of the 6 total meals by the Langsners and Esther’s good friend, AJ. I love davening in Kamenitz when i stay in that area. Everyone is doing well and it was all just a blast.
Chol Hamoed – Esther and I met up with Sara Rochel (my sis in law) and her whole family and went to a CORN MAZE. the stalks are like 8 feet tall and the path out is unknown. But if you walk around certain parts of the maze, there are clues to the maze which can help get you out. we all broke up into 3 teams and raced to get to the end. it was funny passing each other as we went through it. what was even funnier was that Sara Rochel’s team made it out in less than 25 minutes (but didnt have the majority of the clues – which is an objective in finishing the maze) because they turned the wrong way! My team beat Esther’s by ONE minute. woo hoo! go Team Adiel!
Over the course of the few days of this chol hamoed we made sure to eat in a sukka (a neighbor had one set up around the corner). We also spent some time in the city checking out the site’s and trying to win some tickets to a Broadway show (which we didn’t).
The last 3 days we spent in the Lower East Side (LES). On the way to the lower east side, we remembered that we didn’t say tashlich yet. so as we were driving over the bridge we started to say it and finished saying it together once we got to the end. pretty pathetic if you ask me – but the best we could do in the rush we were in.
Shimini Atzeres and Simchas Torah we’re great. As you all know – i have this love for the classic jewish feeling that is strongly apparent in the LES. And it’s even stronger when the streets are closed off by the police and all the shuls come out and dance with the sifrei torah. what a site!
It was a solid holiday and i’m glad that we saw so many people over the course of the week. May this year bring lots more happiness to EVERYONE!!!
