Time Lapse Experiment 1

I had some time this week to get out since my Internet was down for like 3 days. So I took my trusty Canon ZR70 miniDV camcorder out to a park here (which i JUST discovered) that overlooks JFK airport. The quality of the footage is poor – especially for anyone who has been spoiled by the amazing quality offered by our DVD: Everyday Kosher Cooking (www.everydaykoshercooking.com) .

What you’ll be seeing in this clip is some airplane take-offs (in the distance) and then the 2nd half of the clip shows the planes as they head back in at sunset. I’ve increased the velocity of the frame rate by 300% so you can get the time lapse effect. The video is 8 minutes and 15 seconds with some smooth relaxing music.

Enjoy and lemme know what you think (its ~27MB):

beautiful shot of the sunset ~5:00!!! I love the color, try playing with the contrast on that shot in your editor, i bet you can make it even better!!

It’s a beautiful little movie…a little wistful music and the slow time lapse making you in touch with nature’s rhythms. I liked it. Shows a true natural talent and eye. Keep making movies…can we have one of Shaina???

Hey, no way, is that the nature preserve in Bayswater?? cool!

fyi: that mound you see at sunset (with the sun setting over & below it) is unfortunately a mound of garbage..

also fyi: there’s a cool sandbar around toward that side that lets you walk into the bay at low tide. That might be a really cool time-lapse too for your next internet-outage project.

Could you do a time-lapse now of Shaina growing up? ;)
