Happy Birthday Adiel!!

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Adiel is 32 today! Woohoo! Although his present from me didn’t get here yet I made his favorite food for supper.

Spaghetti and Meatballs!! (In this case Perciatelli cuz we wanted to try something new).

Here is a photo summary of dinner.

Perciatelli just drained:

Meatballs, freshly made in a semi-homade sauce, cooked in our amazing titanium pot

Here is the Percitelli and Meatballs, plated on a nice dish! The second shot was taken by Adiel with good lighting and angling and stuff

All mixed up on a plate and it was so delicious there were no leftovers!!

Now that I see it’s not as hard as I thought to  upload pics, we’ll try to do more of the Shaina babe. There are some pics on my facebook account for those who are members.

Happy birthday love!! 32 is the gematria of Lev so that’s a great thing!

Balancing it All

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

As you can tell from the infrequent updates to our website, we’ve been pretty busy. Now you may think, “what are they so busy with?” , it takes just 10 minutes to update the site!?!?

ha.

when i was single, i used to think that married men were immasculine. they would actually listen to their wives and play with their kids and be friendly and pretend to live the happy life when they should want what i wanted: to be a man by sleeping with lots of women and beating up anyone who messed with me. i mean, isn’t that what what being a super macho man is nowadays? and isn’t that the way hollywood depicts a REAL man? think James Bond.

but after being married for a little over 2 years now, i’ve come to realize that you’re not a man UNLESS you’re married. It takes more guts to commit to a monogamous relationship and build something when you’re two different people. and it’s more heart wrenching to work out the differences to make everyone happy than it is to kick someone’s butt.

and on top of that, the challenges require one to step out of his box and take initiative to deal with any given situation. i’m not superman, but lots of unexpected things have come up that require creativity to resolve. and these challenges make one step into different roles: husband, father, friend, doctor, therapist, mechanic, handy-guy, comp wiz (i’m one anyway), public speaker, host, and more. and that takes a lot of energy, creativity, and something which makes a married man more masculine than any single chump.

Shaina is 6 months and getting more and more adorable.  She has just started eating real foods — she likes butternut squash the best!

We’ve been spending all of our Shabbosim away…with the Langnsers, by the Langsners and with other friends, the Greenbergs and Lehrfields. And Bubby Price Thanks to all of the invites, and we are actually lookiing forward to staying home one of these weeks…

We’ve tried to take advantage of some of the free stuff nearby, a couple of outdoor concerts by Long Beach and Cedarhurst Park are family favorites.

Counting down to the big wedding in Toronto. 5 weeks from tonight!! And I still don’t have a gown —aaah!!

More to come soon, iyh.
